From comedians to Playboy bunnies to earbuds

The dream that you are playing a video game, represents your ability to manipulate others into what you want them to do. Alternatively, playing video games suggests that you are trying to escape from the problems in your real life, instead of confronting it. Consider the type of video game for additional insights.

To dream that you are sick, denotes discordance and trouble in your life. It may signal part of yourself which needs to be healed, either physically or mentally. Perhaps you are wallowing in your own self pity. You need to quit feeling sorry for yourself.

*The comedian Jason Manford was going to be visiting our local town handing out free gifts. Me and a friend (cannot remember who it was now) decided to go along to see him. He was pushing a trolley and handing out free bottles of shampoo, so we took one giggling like school girls and walked away. This particular comedian has been in the press for messaging girls on Twitter and in the dream we were discussing this and whether or not to mention it to him. Then we ran into an old lady who was also giving out free bottles of something and my friend informed me that she was the creator of a computer game which was a massive hit. We went to get her free sample and it started a huge argument between her and Jason Manford.

I walked back and was in the Girls' of the Playboy Mansion as a winner of a competition to hang out with the girls for the day/night. It was Holly's birthday and as she came over to greet me I realised up close how orange she was. She hugged me and my white tshirt was covered in orange makeup. Kendra was showing me all the stuff that Hugh Heffner bought for them and I was thinking, I could probably be a Playboy bunny for all the great presents! Me and Kendra then started to play a computer game together.

I was still playing the game, which was an action 'shoot-them' style game but was now playing with Ben in a small box room piled high with rubbish and possessions. We were taking the game very seriously and a small boy who was a tramp broke in through the window to play with us. We then watched a movie with Justin Timberlake and Seth Rogen in, where they were playing mermen. There was one scene which had to be shot in 30 seconds otherwise the actors would die and all of a sudden I was on the film set with a fire extinguisher ready to help them escape the scene. Luckily, everyone made it out alive.

Next thing I know, I am in the kitchen getting ready for my birthday party and I want to use a cotton bud to clean my ears. When I go into the cupboard I see that my brother has put back used buds absolutely covered in ear wax. It was so disgusting that it made me throw up into the bin.

Dinner with the boss.... and my dad

With this dream, I found it difficult to discover what the significance was of the brakes on my car not working. To try something new for the blog I posted a question on the Internet to see what responses (if any) I received. In the end I had 2 separate people email me with their interpretations which I will share with you. I am trying to find out from both people what their interest/skill set is in interpreting dreams.

The dream indicates to me that you think you have a particular situation in control, but something will happen that will let you know otherwise, this could range from a person you have unfortunately placed too much trust in, someone that you could have taken for granted that they would just be there or do something. Whatever it may be, make sure you tend to the details yourself, or if you have someone else do something, go back over their work to insure accuracy or completeness. Go with God.

The car is your body; inside your body is the real you, your soul, your sense of being 'me'. When in a dream you drive a car it means that you are in control; you know where in life and work you are going. If you are unable to break, it means that you are about to lose control, that you are unable to control the speed of your life, that something is taking over your means of holding back when it is required. No brakes on a car is serious for you are liable to head for a smash or accident.

*I was expected to go into work for 2 days over Christmas and it was my first day over the break I was expected in. I walked to the station, which was over-crowded with Japanese tourists. I saw my train leaving just as I arrived and it was the most crowded I have ever seen a train. People's face were squashed up against the glass of the doors. My car was parked at the station so I decided to drive into work. My car was parked in the middle of 3 cars and when I went to get in, I realised either side were 2 of my old school friends, who I do not speak to/with anymore. We exchanged pleasantries and I set off on my journey. I got round the corner of the station when all of a sudden, as I pressed down on the accelerator the engine roared loudly and the breaks wouldn't work. Panicking, I had to get the car back home without using breaks and waiting for the car to slow to a stop. Luckily enough I made it back to my house in one piece.
My brother Tom, who used to be a mechanic, looked over my car and was trying to convince me that it was still fine to drive. Knowing better I thought I should get a 2nd opinion and asked my dad who said the nearest mechanic is based in Chancery Lane (right next to where I work) and we would have to call him out. From my mobile I kept trying to call the mechanic but his phone was switched off as he was away for the holidays.
Realising that I wouldn't be able to make it into work after all (especially as when I looked at the time it was almost 4pm!), I knew I had to call my MD (Jonathan). I walked into the Kitchen to tell my dad what I was doing and I walked up a spiral staircase to get to my room. My room in the dream was nothing like my actual bedroom, it was at the top of a tower and all the walls were made of glass. I Skyped Jonathan and we were talking to each other over our laptops using headsets. I explained my predicament and hammed it up a bit with a few tears etc. He was pretty short with me on the call and I ended up begging him not to be mad with me.
All of a sudden me and dad were having dinner and Jonathan is there as well, although in my dream he was a big, fat, loud man who used the phrase 'babes' and 'love' a lot. He was sitting there talking about how much the Company expected from me and how amazingly I came across in the interview and they're disappointed that I haven't performed as well as they had anticipated. I did not say a word throughout his whole big speech on what a failure I am. Meanwhile dad felt the need to 'promote' me and my talents and was telling Jonathan how hard working I am, how dedicated and so on.

I can definitely see how this dream came about. My MD- Jonathan, is spending the day in the office with me today and I was nervous about it all night because I was scared he is going to be on my case!

A whloe lot of nonsense

To see a dead tree in your dream, indicates that your hopes and desires have been dashed. Alternatively, the dead tree represents infertility or a lack of virility.

To dream that you are buying earrings, represents your desire for acceptance and affection.

To see an old man in your dream represents wisdom or forgiveness.

*I was sitting at home watching an episode of Rugrats (the children's cartoon), which I have seen many times before. The doorbell rang and I decided to ignore it. After continuous knocking on the door, I decided to answer it after all. As I approached, Jasper (my dog) ran towards the door along with 2 other puppies who looked identical to my previous dog Smudge (who sadly passed away in 2010). I scooped up Jasper into my arms and answered the door, but only opening it an inch as the dog was struggling. There was an old man who I didn't know there and I assumed he was from a charity or something, but he opened the door and walked straight through into our living room. I followed him through and felt very awkward/uncomfortable as I wasn't sure who he was or why he felt so at home. All of a sudden the old man was my Grandad and I was talking to him about how he had got to our house, to which he informed me he had walked (from Broadstairs!).
Next thing I knew, I was in Upminster highstreet shopping, alone. I was looking in an old horrid looking jewellery shop for an earring for my Tragus piercing (section of the ear). Most of the items they had were extremely dirty, rusty and old. I finally found what I was looking for but the boy who worked in the shop informed me they were unable to put it in for me, so I had to leave it in the end anyway. As I was leaving the shop, I noticed there were lots of pictures from Amy from a TV show I watch called 'The Only Way is Essex' hanging round the walls. I was informed this was her parent's shop. I then started to walk home when I received a text message from Ben saying "I don't think this is working anymore. It might be time to call it an end". Feeling wretched upon receiving the bad news I needed to sit down, so pulled out a camping chair and sat on the pavement, whilst drinking a can of Coke Zero. Some guy who I recognised from my Junior School approached me. He was wearing a binman's uniform, as that was his full time job now. We got talking and it became apparent he did not remember me and when I asked him his name it turned out he was not the person I thought and his name was Ethan. We chatted for a bit and he kept asking me to go to the pub with him for a drink. I told him I couldn't as I had a boyfriend and he said "Yes, but he wants to break up with you". When I asked him how he knew this information, he showed me a t-shirt he had bought with the text Ben had sent me across it. I was very upset and then I started to smoke (despite having given up months ago). Ethan kept following me down the road and I tried to get rid of him. When I turned to look at him he had my nasal spray I use everyday in his hand and when I took it back he had used it all.
Then, I was in my grandad's bungalow in Broadstairs and I was on the phone to Ben to talk to him about the text message he had sent me. I walked to the back of the bungalow, facing the garden. He was very drunk on the other end of the phone and I was getting very upset and angry by it. He told me that he had just been made permanent in his position at work and was drinking to celebrate. Whilst we were chatting on the phone the trees at the end of my grandad's garden were all dead and sinister looking and started coming to life and moving towards me menacingly.

School Trip

To Dream that you are going on a trip, suggests that you are in need of a change of scenery. You are feeling overworked and need to take time out for yourself for some fun and relaxation. Alternatively, the dream means that you are looking to explore a different aspect of yourself

To see a killer whale in your dream, indicates that you need to be more sociable or more vocal about something. Alternatively, the dream symbolises spiritual guidance. You are ready to explore your emotions, but you need to make the connection between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself.

*I was on some sort of holiday/trip and one of the people I was with was the Indian Actor from East is East (although in the dream he was not famous). We were getting on really well and were very flirty with each other. We went to his bedroom (which was actually my actual bedroom) where we were staying and started getting hot and steamy. After the act itself we cuddled in his bed- him topless and with the most amazing body I had ever seen. A while later and he wanted to show me a 'surprise'. He took me down a corridor and showed me his pet rat. I ran away screaming as I am scared of them. Once I had calmed down a bit I ventured back over to them and he showed me that the rat did all sorts of tricks. I then left because I was booked to go on a banana boat ride. The boat took us far out into the sea and as it went over a bump, I fell into the water. They wouldn't let me climb back onto the banana and said I had to swim back to shore- even though we were miles out. I started the long swim back and noticed several black lumps in the water. There were lots of killer whales in the sea and they were trying to eat me. The boat instructor told me that the whales were attracted to my white legs as they thought they were baby seals and all I had to do was lift my legs out of the water as one of the whales came towards me and slide over the top of them on my bottom. So I had to do this all the way back to shore.
Still in the dream, I wake up the following morning and have no recollection of where I am and what I am doing. I am in my PJ's and everyone else is dressed and ready to go. I have to quickly run along to find my room as I hadn't stayed there or even seen it and grab my case to leave. I didn't have time for a shower or anything and felt really disgusting. The guy who I was sharing a room with wasn't there but he had left lots of chocolate wrappers all over the room, which angered me.
We got onto the bus home- me still in my pj's and I became increasingly aware of the fact that I was the only person to be in my pj's. We pulled over for a rest stop and we were all given guns. Next thing I know we are all running around playing Goldeneye but with paintball guns instead of the real thing. At one point it started to snow heavily and we realised we were trapped in the building so I started building a snowman on the floor- much to the amusement of everyone else.

Day off work

To dream about your current job, suggests that you need to work harder or be more effective at work. There may be something or some task that must be done. Or the dream may mean you are overworked or preoccupied with work. You need to make time for leisure and relaxation.

*I was still away from the office for Christmas holidays and was discussing with my family when I was due to start back at work. I informed them that I had to start back on Wednesday of that week, the current day being Monday. The following morning I was walking through Upminster Highstreet at about 11am when it suddenly hit me that I was due back at work that day and not the day after. During the whole dream I was having trouble making the decision of whether or not to go in; my desire being to stay at home and my conscience telling me I should do the right thing and go in. As the time was ticking on I was watching my phone waiting for work to call me to see where I was and I kept trying to think of excuses.

Remembering Dreams

Lately I have been experiencing something which doesn't normally happen to me. I have been waking up in the morning remembering my dream, when all of a sudden, faster than the blink of an eye, it is forgotten and no matter how hard I try I cannot picture it again. I find this such a strange sensation because normally I can remember 95% of my dreams so vividly. The last dream I wrote about I can still remember 4 days on as clear as if it happened for real. I used to wake up and jot rough notes about my dream for blogging purposes which obviously helped me to remember, so in the interest of my blog I shall have to commence writing notes.

I decided to research into the reasons why we might forget dreams and ways in which we can help to remember. I ended up finding out some interesting information. Firstly, why it is important for us to remember our dreams:

1. Your dreaming mind has access to vital info that is not readily available to you when you are awake. Your dreams serve as a window to your subconscious and reveal your secret desires and feelings.

2. In remembering your dreams, you gain increased knowledge, self-awareness and self healing. Dreams are an extension of how you perceive yourself. They may be a source of inspiration, wisdom, joy, imagination and overall improved psychological health.

3. Learning to recall dreams helps you become a more assertive, confident and stronger person. By remembering your dreams, you are expressing and confronting your feelings.

4. Dreams help guide you through difficult decisions, relationship issues, health concerns, career questions or any life struggle you might be experiencing.

5. You will learn more about yourself, your aspirations and your desires.

Why do we forget our dreams?

The fact of the matter is, most people wont remember their dreams or they end up forgetting about them because while they are asleep their brain is not focused on remembering anything. The reason why some people can remember all of their dreams and other people barely remember any is due to the individuals' personal interest; the more interested they are in their dreams, the more likely they are to pay attention.

How do I recall my dreams?

1) *Top answer* - As soon as you wake up, write down what happened, or record it onto a dictaphone. You will be required to keep a notebook and pen next to the bed, or a dictaphone.

2)P.M.A (positive mental attitude) - Try to clear your mind as much as possible before you go to bed. If you've got lots on your brain you are less likely to remember as your brain is distracted. Try thinking "I will remember my dream when I wake up". Approaching it with a positive attitude will actually help you to remember your dreams.

3) Have a regular bed and wake up time (which is very hard to do if you live a lifestyle similar to me!). Another piece of advice in line with this is avoiding alcohol consumption, fatty foods or medication close to bed time as they can hinder your ability to remember your dream.

4) Don't get out of bed immediately. Upon waking from a dream, lay still in your bed, keeping your eyes closed and moving as little as possible. Wake up slowly and relax. Try to hold on to the feelings you have and let your mind wander to the images of what you have just dreamt.

5) Learn to share your dreams and talk about them with others, no matter how seemingly insignificant. The more often you acknowledge your dreams and bring them to 'reality', the easier it is to remember.

As per my findings I am going to make a conscious effort to start recording my dreams at the very moment I wake up to ensure I can remember as much as possible... watch this space!

Another cheating dream...

*I was sending rude, crude, filthy emails to James Corden from my work email address. When I got home from work that evening he was at my house. My whole family were in the living room and he was by the door laying on the floor. As I walked past him he was stroking my back affectionately due to all the email flirting and Ben saw him. I had to quickly go and make amens with Ben, whilst still winking at James. Ben then asked to borrow my laptop and I remembered I had left my emails open and you could see what I had been sending. I ran over to the laptop and closed my email account down. Later on Ben came back into the room and was in a funny mood. When I asked him what the matter was he dragged me into my bedroom with the laptop open on my sent emails and demanded to know what was going on.

That was the point where I woke up!

Always the Bridesmaid...

*To dream that you are a bridesmaid, signifies a looming romance. Also consider the old adage "Always a Bridesmaid, never a bride". You could be expressing your desire to be in a committed relationship*

I dreamt that my friend Helen and I were both Bridesmaids for a mutual friend (Tanya). Helen and her have been friends for years and I have only really known her for a short period of time and not seen her for about 2 years now.

We were all supposed to be getting ready at a post hotel together but I was running very late. When I got there, Helen informed me that I didnt have enough time even to wash my hair so was telling me I'd have to wear it up and greasy! I went ahead and washed it anyway and in the end she came and washed it in the sink for me. Tanya walked past and was still only half way through getting ready herself so I had loads of time. Then my foundation had run out, so me and Helen were using a knife to cut it open in order to use the dregs at the bottom of the bottle. During the dream Ben was running around in the background writing a card for Helen and her boyfriend 'Steve' who is in fact called Roy.
